Sylvan Gavroche: “Porn is not bad. Porn is great”

It may sound kind of French, but Sylvan Gavroche is actually the stage name of a 25 year-old adult performer from Barcelona, Spain.

His name is a combination of things he likes. He adopted Sylvan from a cartoon show he used to watch as a kid and Gavroche (Thénardier) is the famous character of a boy who lives in the streets of Paris from the movie Les Miserables (Tom Hooper, 2012), his favorite.

Sylvan won’t tell us his real name because he likes to keep it secret, but when it comes to nudity, this stud has a totally different perception. “I am shameless and I have no problem getting naked in front of people whatsoever”, he said, during our interview originally published in 2016 that turned out to be a funny and honest conversation between him and one of our journalists.

“At the end of the day, the idea of being watched is exactly what turns me on”, he confesses. .

Sylvan is far from an average stud who decided to make money by doing porn. He has a professional degree in audiovisual, show producer and a degree in Criminology.

Lately Sylvan has also been producing his own porn.

Your English is great! I am impressed!

Thanks. It’s because of NBA’s video games and Anime’s levels.

The name Gavroche sounds a little bit French. Is that your background?

Nope, but I can speak some French and I love the culture and the history of that country.

What is the story behind your debut in porn?

Well, I used to do regular cinema, spots, pictures and all of that stuff and that’s why I like to consider myself an actor, not just a porn performer. I don’t know if I am a good one, but I am still an actor. One day I saw an online casting going on and this company called BlackmindStudios apparently wanted a guy without shame.

Which fits well in you, right?

Exactly. I’m not gonna hide it. I am shameless, so I accepted it. We shot like two short films (erotic, not porn) and one of them was with the beautiful and marvelous Amarna Miller.

Of course, they did an interview with her before the shooting and she started to talk about ethic porn, feminist porn, alternative porn and I kind of related to that. At that moment, I decided I wanted to be just like her. But with a cock between the legs.

So the idea was never to become a porn star, but an actor with different layers to his personality?

Well, the idea of being a porn star has always been in the back of my mind. I remember when I was what? A 15 year-old teenager who wouldn’t let his dick rest even for a minute thinking about being a porn star. I used to think to myself, “man I think I can do that”. For me, watching porn has always been something to concentrate and not just to masturbate.

But it’s hard to control yourself. Jerking off is always good…

Of course it is. I masturbate watching it, everyday if you want to know the truth, but I like it when there’s something more involved, like a story line, when it’s well done or has something more than just sex.

So when the opportunity came, I jumped right on it like there’s no tomorrow. I think you can be everything you want. I like to consider myself somebody who can do both, acting and fucking at the same time.

What message do you think you are passing over to people watching you?

Wow. That’s deep. I don’t think I’m necessarily passing any message. I mean, I try to, but as a person who shoots porn you don’t have many opportunities to speak to people about the insides of sex.

What I want is people to enjoy my work knowing that when they are watching me, they are also watching something more than a cock fucking or masturbating, they are watching somebody that won’t do anything sexist, unethical or unhealthy, someone who is a normal person that just likes to be seeing doing what he likes the most.

What do you mean by “anything sexist, unethical or unhealthy”?

Well, I say that because I’ve done some unethical and sexist shits in the past and I wouldn’t do that again. Never.

In front of the cameras? Like what?

Yes, yes, in front of the camera. Once I was part of a scene with three guys having sex with a girl and beating her. Obviously everything was fake, but still. Or offering girls money to have sex, picking her up at a random place, things like that.

So there’s a message on those movies. What are the limits between acting and reality?

Yes. Fake reality. Everything is set up but the message it gives to the audience is that it’s ok to offer people money to suck your cock or to punch a girl in the face to force her to blow your cock, when it’s not ok. I hate that.

Acting in porn is fake. It’s fantasy. But, sexual education is so fucking bad these days that I am afraid that a 12 year-old guy watching this kind movies might get thinking that it’s normal to behave like that with a woman, when it’s definitely not.

For God’s sake, I even have friends who believe in public pickups and easy sex to these days.

It’s interesting that you point that out in a moment that a lot of people have been complaining about the porn industry. They say it’s a sexist industry and some people even say that the women doing it in reality are being raped…

I’ve been shooting porn for a year now for Europeans companies, I have done like 60 scenes and I have never seen a girl forced to do something she wouldn’t want or sign up for.

Porn is not bad. Porn is great. You cannot blame porn because of a sick society. We have to give proper sexual education to young people and things will start working a little bit better. A way better. Also, sorry about that last part, my criminologist side pops out when I talk about those things.

It’s ok. I like that you are aware of it. What’s your take on the condom regulation? California industry has been struggling…

We just had a conversation about that with Bel (Gris, the man behind Tetatita.com) the other day. Condoms are ok, are great, you can shoot with or without them, but that’s a choice that has to be made by the actors involved and no one else, no company and no laws. Law should state that the companies must ask actors about how they want to shoot. And that’s all.

But there are risks involved…

We take medical tests and I can only speak about myself but I don’t shoot if tests are not ok and recent. That’s because I prefer to shoot without condom, I can shoot with it but it is harder for me to keep the erection.

What stuff have you done other than porn?

I have done some photo shoots as a model, I don’t really know if the companies that buy those pics will publish them knowing that the person selling the product does porn, but I’m not going to tell them. Laughs. And as I said before, I love to do this kind of stuff. I have done video clips and hundreds of figuration and photos. It’s just that people only notices me when I get naked.

Well, having a pretty face helps a lot

It’s not that pretty trust me. I am a tall guy, like I’m 189 cm, 91kg and before you ask, my cock is like between 17 and 19, 20 in a good day.

How do you know I was going to ask that?

Intuition.

What do you think of the the stereotype in the business?

Stereotypes, stereotypes…. when I tell someone I do porn they are like, why? Do you need money? Are you in need? The idea is that the guys are like silver-back gorillas and girls are hoes. The truth is, there are some gorillas and some hoes, of course, but there are a lot of normal people in this industry. The majority of people doing it nowadays I’ve known them from the inside out and I can guarantee they are very normal and different among them. Juan Lucho, Adrián Dimas, I mean, even Nacho Vidal and Rob Diesel are pretty normal and decent guys. Oh, and they are both shorter than me.

Bel Gris just launched a solo scene of you. Was that a first?

My first scene with other guys was with him. We made history. Also, it was my first time jerking off at the beach. The experience was great. Laughs. Actually, this was my third solo, but the other two haven’t come out yet.

The good thing about solos is that it is for all audiences. No prejudice

Right. And that’s what I like the most. Solos are great, I can do it by myself and it’s all about me, I don’t have to worry about the other person, and the way you look, move, act is way more important and purer than in a sex scene. For me it’s easier, faster to shoot solos. I love to shoot solos and it’s exactly what you said, it’s for everyone. There’s no prejudice involved.

As I get from this conversation, this passion for solos is related to what you said before, I mean, you are shameless and have no problem showing off your body. Is that right?

Right on.

The idea of being watched…

Yes.

Desired…

Exactly. This is what turns me on the most.

What are your plans for porn? What is there that you would like to explore in this career?

In a short term I am hoping to work for Erica Lust. Let me tell you something. I started doing porn because I wanted to shoot with them and it still hasn’t happened. When I look at it in a long term, the truth is that I don’t know how to enjoy life, I mean, carpe diem, you know? Hopefully I can make something mixing porn, criminology and whatever comes to me.

Would you do a gay scene?

If I find a guy that I like… why not? I mean, as an actor, I have tried everything at this point and everyone, young, old, guy, girl, trans. As of now, I’m not sexually interested towards men, and to shoot, you have to be at least interested. But you never know.

Have you ever done a scene with a guy before?

Nope. I did a photo shoot once with guys, years ago. Never done a scene. The photo shoot was erotic, not porn. You have to try everything if you want to know if you like it or not.

What is your opinion on homophobia?

Man, I hate it. I mean, it’s like, if you do straight porn, you do straight porn. If you do gay porn, you do gay porn. And as a male perform, you can’t switch. But girls, they have a free pass. They can kiss each other, have sex with each other and there’s no problem whatsoever. Why is that? If I, a guy, kiss Nacho Vidal, for example, they will call me gay and the audience will see it as a problem. Why this? Since I am an actor I should have a free pass too.

The gorillas and the hoes…

Right! Remember what I said about the gorillas and the hoes? In the porn world, the gorillas and the hoes are not the actors. They are the ones that pay the bills. Good thing is, some companies are noticing that. Tetatita, Lust, AltPorn4u, Folric are just some of them. They are ethics and respectful to everyone.

Do you have any role model you like in this industry?

Nope. I don’t. Not even Bel, who is a great friend of mine. I mean, I respect everyone but I don’t want to be like anybody else. I am me. Look. Let me put it this way. What I want is to work as much as Juan Lucho, be known as Nacho Vidal, have the charm of Sílvia Rubí and the speech of Amarna Miller. All in one. But being me.
